Samuli Sistonen

Samuli has 25 years diverse and international experience from leading businesses and people, developing HR management, and consulting in performance management and rewards. Prior to founding Reward Agency, Samuli worked as the Managing Director of Mercer Finland and before then he was the Country Manager at Hay Group. In both companies he acted as an active member of Nordic leadership teams. Samuli has also worked as a consultant at Deloitte and PwC. At Tapiola Group Samuli was responsible for recruitments, personnel planning and rewards over 20 years back. Samuli also has valuable crisis management experience from the beginning of the millennium, when he served as an officer in Kosovo.

Over the years Samuli has supported hundreds of companies to develop HR, leadership, performance management and rewards. The clients come from different industries and vary from global listed companies to medium and small sized growth companies in Finland and abroad. The counterparts at client side are typically company owners, boards, executive management and HR professionals.

Samuli has written two books about performance management and rewards. Improve results and reward was published by Talentum in 2008. During 2010-2011 Samuli acted as the Chairman of the Board and Executive Remuneration working group of Boardman – a Finnish Board professionals’ organization. As a result of the unique group’s cooperation the book Executive rewards was published in autumn 2011.

Samuli holds a Master’s Degree from Helsinki University majoring in economics with minors in mathematics and statistics. Samuli also holds a Master’s Degree from Helsinki School of Economics majoring in organisation and leadership with minor in accounting.
